Believe it or not......your DJ DOESN'T have as much to do with making that happen AS YOU DO! YOU have the power as a couple to make your wedding dance party the most amazing EVER. How you ask? I got you! Here is what you need to do my friend:
🎶 Choose songs that you as A COUPLE will dance to. Like ACTUALLY dance to. Think LESS jamming in the car together and more like ALL out dance party at the house. Even if its only 5 songs, that's totally fine! With both of you on the floor together jamming to your favorite song it will guarantee to get everyone out there with you. (Make sure they are songs that MOST people at your wedding know as well)
🎶 Pick songs for your wedding party! This is the life blood of your party, your biggest supporters: they are literally the people you have chosen and will be the most excited for you as a couple. Of course they will get out there and dance with you but how much more excited will they be if you play songs that you ABSOLUTELY know they love. Also it just looks cool when a bunch of your bridal party who are wearing the same outfit dance together. It's a party magnet! When coming up with your song request list think as specifically as possible about what members of your wedding party will definitely DANCE TO.
🎶 Choose a few songs catered to guests over 40yrs old. (Mom, Dad, Aunts and Uncles, Older Friends) Try your best to clump those guests in groups of 15-20 and think about genres, artists or specific songs that they as a group will dance to. Even if it's not your cup of tea - they will absolutely love it! Remember there are some songs they might just enjoy listening to in their seats but which songs will get them on the floor for sure?
Bonus Tips from your DJ:
🎤 Put your DJ as close to the dance floor as possible
🎤 Keep the Photobooth, Bar and DJ all in the same room (if possible)
🎤 Sit the Younger People Close to the Dance Floor as well as close to the DJ Booth
